Overview

Egans Plant Hire required a custom design, installation, and commissioning of wash down cannons and a recycled water pumping system for a new heavy vehicle wash bay. Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment Brisbane branch was awarded this job.

The Problem

Egans Plant Hire required all existing rail systems to be utilised for a sliding wash down cannon arrangement. The water also needed to be transported from an onsite sump to the water tanks at the pump station.

Our Solution

Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment Brisbane supplied the wash down cannons and isolation valves for the wash bay. The system in place operates on-demand and can supply one cannon at a time. The wash down water is recycled from an existing onsite sump and delivered to water tanks at the pump station. Existing pipework from the sump was used to supply tanks at the pump station.

Key Components

  • A Grundfos Solo E pump set was supplied for the wash down cannons.
  • 63mm discharge pipework and fittings from the pump outlet into the wash bay were installed.
  • A screen filter was used within the discharge pipework.
  • Heavy-duty rubber hosing was supplied from the main pipeline to the wash down cannons and was fitted to the sliding cannon set up.
  • A Tsurumi automatic sump pump operating on a float switch was supplied for the existing sump.
  • Runoff water is delivered to a settling tank which overflows into the main pump station supply tank.

All materials and installation were supplied on time and within the customers budget.
