With the growing population, it has become more critical than ever before to conserve water and, more importantly, reuse existing water by sending it through wastewater treatment plants.
Chemical dosing adds flocculants to water to remove unwanted material during waste treatment, water treatment and other chemical processors. Different chemicals can be used as flocculants (or flocking agents) that separate solid particles from the liquid to purify and remove odours.
Chemical Dosing System
Many factors influence the chemical dosing system, including location, space availability, chemical type, plant size, etc. In general, however, at least two chemical tanks will be present to store the dosing chemicals. In the chemical dosing system, water from the intake streams passes through several filters. Each filter removes chemical particles, allowing the water to flow to the dosing point.
The chemicals from the tanks are discharged into the water to treat and eliminate any dissolved contaminants present. Based on the level and quantity of dissolved chemicals present in the wastewater, these chemicals are discharged at a certain speed and pressure.
Finally, the water is tested at the calibration point. If it satisfies the established requirements, the potable water is sent for a final chemical treatment, after which it is ready for use. Chemical dosing systems are highly efficient, so they are an essential component of any wastewater treatment facility.
