Overview

The Teachers Savings and Loan Society Limited ‘TISA’ is the largest Savings & Loans Society in Papua New Guinea and the largest Credit Union in the Pacific. The Society has branches in 17 provincial centres around PNG, serving its nationwide membership. Embracing the digital era, TISA is progressively utilising electronic channels to reach its members and deliver faster and convenient services.

The Teachers Savings and Loans Society (Tisa) is investing K82 million in a nine-storey property called Tisa Rua being built in Port Moresby. The new building needed a clean supply of potable water and a triple Grundfos booster pump set to provide pressurised water throughout the building, and the water supply comes from a Break Tank.

The Problem

Break Tanks are used in every building as a safety supply device as the continual supply can be problematic in PNG, thus utilising a Break Tank for disinfection of the water before consumption is required.

Dowdens provided a Grundfos Multistage triple booster pump set to look after the delivery of the water at 4lps. Our water treatment engineering team designed a custom made dual 1micron stainless steel bag filter system to suit the customer’s specifications, which included dual Ultraviolet lamp disinfection. The system is connected via high quality 316 stainless steel press-fit pipe and fittings.
